Target Participants

Academic and teaching staff from vocational and professional education and training (VPET) institutions and higher education institutions, VPET workplace mentors, VPET stakeholders and interested members of the public are welcome.

Workshop Outline

Apart from daily teaching and development duties, teachers nowadays always have to manage some other projects which require much team work and collaboration with students and other teaching and support staff.

This workshop will enable participants to unlearn and relearn what is effective communication through experiential learning initiatives; equip them with both knowledge, skills and mindset to communicate effectively with other people of different personalities. The ultimate purpose is to maintain good working relation and to achieve project result.

On completion of this workshop, the participants would be able to:

  • master effective communication principles and skills and to overcome communication barrier;
  • communicate effectively with people of different social styles; and
  • gain some good tips on creating harmonious working relation and to achieve result.


Ms Christine Choy discusses different types of social skills to create a harmonious workplace environment.

Innovative Pedagogical Strategies in VPET Series

Innovative Pedagogical Strategies in VPET Series is funded by the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) on the project of “Development of Effective Pedagogical Practices and a Cross-institutional Online Sharing Platform for Hong Kong's Vocational Education and Training (VET)”. It offers seminars and workshops on a regular basis to keep VPET academic and teaching staff, workplace mentors and VPET stakeholders abreast of the most updated flexible learning, innovative pedagogical practices, competency-based and task-oriented instructional strategies. It also serves the purpose of enhancing peer learning between institutions’ academic and teaching staff and workplace mentors to maximise support to students during their workplace learning and industrial attachment.
